HYDERABAD, JULY 21. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, led an all-party delegation to New Delhi this evening to seek the Prime Minister's intervention in securing water from Almatti Dam to meet the needs of the Krishna Delta. The decision was taken at the floor leaders' meeting two days ago following refusal of the Karnataka Government to release water. The Leader of the Opposition, N. Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied him. Among others of the delegation were: The Minister for Major Irrigation, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Chada Venkata Reddy of the CPI, Nomula Narasimhaiah (CPI-M), K. Ramulu (Janata Party) and G. Kishan Reddy (BJP), D.K. Aruna of the Samajwadi Party and Indrasena Reddy, BJP State president.
