BANGALORE, JULY 22. The Bangalore Management Association (BMA), as part of its golden jubilee celebrations, plans to establish a centre for management research and development here. A corpus of Rs. 1 crore is being set apart for the purpose, senior vice-president of BMA, G. Ramanand, told presspersons on Thursday. The BMA, which predates the All-India Management Association by three years, is organising a two-day event here on July 30 and 31. Mr. Ramanand said the "Vision India 2020 evolving management agenda," would focus on the skills, technology, information and education that would govern the future course of development in India. The various sessions would deal with topics ranging from infrastructure and technology to public governance and management education. The convention will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Arjun Singh. The Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister, Jairam Ramesh, will address the valedictory. The Chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, an organisation connected with the BMA since its inception, will give the keynote address. The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, and the Minister for Industries, P.G.R. Sindhia, will address the participants.
