TN in Elite Group B list

MUMBAI, JULY 22. Three strong teams — Mumbai, Karnataka and Delhi — are drawn in `Elite Group `A' for the 2004-05 Ranji Trophy championship. Railways, Bengal, Gujarat, Andhra and the promoted side Madhya Pradesh are the other teams in that group.

Last season's finalist Tamil Nadu figures in `Elite Group B' along with Hyderabad, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Baroda, Maharashtra (promoted) and Punjab.

The groupings (Ranji Trophy Plate and Cooch Behar Trophy (Under-19) events):

Ranji Trophy Plate (Group A): Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala (relegated), Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra and Bihar.

Group B: Haryana, Tripura, Goa, Services, Vidarbha and Rajasthan (relegated).

Cooch Behar (Under-19): Elite (Group `A'): Delhi, Haryana, Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Group `B': Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Orissa, Rajasthan and Mumbai; Group `C': Himachal Pradesh, Baroda, Vidarbha, Bengal and Assam

Plate (Group `A'): Punjab, Railways, Saurashtra, Sikkim. Group `B': Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat and Andhra. Group `C': Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad and Madhya Pradesh.
