KOLLAM, JULY 22. A meeting of the Kollam Residents Apex Council (Resco) has taken the decision to launch an agitation against the allegedly anti-people approach of the authorities. In a statement here today, the Resco convener, Sooranad K.C. Madhusoodanan Nair, said the final shape for the agitation would be given at a meeting of the Resco office-bearers and regional conveners here on July 25.
Electronic meters
The agitation is intended to raise protests against the installation of electronic meters by the KSEB, the hike in prices of petroleum products and other essential commodities, luxury tax imposed on metal sheets erected over the terraces of residential premises and conditions imposed on collection of property tax dues.
