Award for Agnivesh, Moideen

NEW DELHI, JULY 22. Social activists Swami Agnivesh and Madari Moideen have been selected for the 12th Rajiv Gandhi National Award for their "outstanding humanitarian services to people."

Carrying a citation and Rs. 1.25 lakhs each, the awards will be presented at a function on August 20, the birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

The awards have been instituted to commemorate the contributions of Rajiv Gandhi to peace and communal harmony.
