TIRUCHI, JULY 22 . National Social Service programme officers of colleges affiliated to Bharathidasan University will offer counselling to parents and children at Kumbakonam by organising special camps, says R. Veerasekaran, NSS coordinator of the university. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of NSS Programme Officers at Jamal Mohamed College. Addressing the meeting, the NSS State Liason Officer, Karu Nagarajan, condoled the death of the Kumbakonam school children and lauded the NSS volunteers of Kumbakonam belonging to Government Men's College, Annai College, Idhaya College and Rajagiri Dawood Batcha College for rendering round-the-clock service at the Government Hospital, mortuary, graveyard and on the accident spot. Fire fighting and disaster management training would be imparted to the volunteers.
