Letters to the Editor
Sir, The arrest warrant drama involving the Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Shibu Soren, is shameful. For appointment in government service, there are many pre-requisites, including police clearance. But it seems a Minister does not have to step down even if a warrant is issued against him.
V.S. Ganeshan,
Sir, The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government should at least now realise that it is not healthy to perpetuate unhappy practices citing precedent. It should ask the `tainted' Ministers to step down.
A.J. Rangarajan,
Sir, An arrest warrant has been issued against a Union Minister in connection with a massacre that took place almost 30 years ago. The Chief Minister of the State that sends the largest number of members to the Lok Sabha has provided a ministerial berth to a person accused in 32 cases. What will be next?
Pisipati Sriram Prasad,
