Hyundai bullish on growth prospects

COIMBATORE: Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) is confident of achieving a production level of 2.5 lakh units a year in its manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu in the current year. Talking to newspersons here on Wednesday, on the occasion of the inauguration of premium car plaza by its Coimbatore dealer Chandra Hyundai, A. N. Prakash Rao, Senior General Manager (Sales), HMIL, said with additional investment, automation and introduction of three shifts, the production could be stepped up to three lakh units a year. The company is bullish on its growth and aims to become the top revenue earner in the car segment by the end of the current calendar year. HMIL was eyeing a 25 per cent market share in the segment and was planning to produce five lakh units annually by 2010, Mr. Rao stated.
