THENI, JULY 22 . The Theni Collector, Sunil Paliwal, ordered officials to complete the development works being implemented in various parts of the district as scheduled to enable the people to enjoy facilities provided by the Government immediately. Inspecting development works in the Andipatti union on Tuesday, he said the District Rural Development Agency had taken up 1,929 works including construction of group houses, thrashing floors, minor culverts, irrigation tanks, desilting of tanks, laying of metal roads and sanitary complexes for children and for women at an estimated cost of Rs.4.66 crores by during 2004-05. Repairs and maintenance of major tanks at Chennamanaickenpatti and Kothaluthu, metal road to Mayandipatti, sanitary complexes in Thopampatti and group houses were some of the major works taken up in the union. He was particular about quality of the works and insisted on completing them quickly.
