Selvaraj is Development Commissioner

PONDICHERRY, JULY 22. The Secretary to the Education Department, B. V. Selvaraj, has been appointed the Development Commissioner of Pondicherry in addition to the charges he has been already holding, an official release said here on Tuesday.

The Secretary to Department of Elections and Chief Electoral Officer of Pondicherry, M. Sathiyavathy, has been appointed Finance Secretary and has been allocated the subjects of Finance, Commercial Taxes, Planning and Research, Accounts and Treasuries, Agriculture, Cooperation, Stationery and Printing, Information Technology and Science Technology and Environment.

IAS officer S. Hemachandran having reported to Pondicherry Administration has been appointed Secretary of Local Administration, Rural Development, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare and Transport. He is also appointed Chairman and Project Director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) relieving V. Candavelou and Ms Ankita Mishra of these charges respectively.

The release said that K.Narsimha has been appointed Secretary to the Departments of Labour and Law relieving C. S. Khairwal, the Chief Secretary, of these charges.

Director of tourism

The Project Director of DRDA, Ms Ankita Mishra has been appointed Director of Tourism relieving the Pondicherry Civil Services (Non-Functional) officer P.Mathew Samuel from holding additional charge of the post.

In another shuffling of officials the Regional Administrator of Mahe A Kullan has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary to Home Department vice Krishnakumar Singh transferred to the post of Administrator of Mahe vice A Kullan transferred, the release said.
