Kurnool
By Our Staff Reporter
KURNOOL, JULY 22. The cloud-seeding radar station at Nandyal is plagued by monkey menace. After installation of radar equipment on top of the building, dozens of curious monkeys gathered at the place to watch the rotating arms of the instrument. On the request of the higher officials and the station staff, the Mandal Revenue Officer deputed four village servants to scare away the monkeys. The officials clarified that the monkeys had not caused any damage to the equipment but they deployed the watch staff as part of precautionary measures. Meanwhile, the radar station staff maintained that the clouds on Thursday too were not suitable for seeding. However, Kurnool and Nandyal towns received showers in the evening.
