KURNOOL, JULY 22. The district secretary of Awaz committee, Mohammad Iqbal, decried the stand of BJP leaders on the quota for Muslims and said it was unfortunate that Muslims were denied Government support on the basis of religion. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said the condition of Muslims educationally and economically very pathetic. The Government proposed the quota for the minorities after inquiring into the backwardness. Mr. Iqbal said the Awaz committee would organise State-wide rallies and other forms of protest in support of the concessions to them.
