MADANAPALLE, JULY 22 . Under the Andhra Pradesh Urban Infrastructure Development Project 2003-04 the following works were sanctioned, according to Nagabhushanam, Commissioner, Madanapalle Municipality. Formation of WBM and B.T. Roads from Nakkaladinne to municipal limits of Ramireddigaripalle, Devalam Street extension, from Penchupad Street; NVR layout main road with drainage and in Vivekananda School, Siddartha College road up to Prasanth Nagar from Saichitra theatre to Kammagadda Street and CC drain in Burma Street with a total expenditure Rs. 46.13 lakhs, hot mix roads (four) to the tune of Rs.25.93 lakhs, widening of Gollapalle ring road (Rs. 27.07 lakhs) and two other roads at a cost of Rs. 25.31 lakhs, beautification of streetlights in three places at a cost of Rs. 45.99 lakhs, highmast lights in two places Ambedkar Circle on Chittoor Road, near RTC bus stand and NTR Circle, Kadiri Road and improvement of hospital branch road at a cost of Rs. 19.43 lakhs and other road formations (6) in different places at a cost of Rs. 43.34 lakhs, he said.
Bridge construction
Mr. Nagabhushanam said that the City Challenge fund of Rs. 41.50 lakhs was being invested on the construction of a bridge near Chittoor bus stand at Madanapalle by the Public Health Department, to ease traffic congestion.
