Prakash scores five
BANGALORE,
JULY 22.
Postal Hockey Club defeated Reserve Bank of India 8-4 in the Deccan Herald `A' division league hockey tournament here on Thursday. Prakash Chalke slammed in five goals — in the 8th, 19th, 27th, 49th and 55th minutes. Prakash's chances of scoring a hat-trick were nullified by teammates Kumanan (23rd) and Taranath (42nd). Mudappa (59th) rounded off the tally for Postal. The scorers for RBI were Ramesh (6th), Roshan (12th and 39th off penalty corners) and Kevin (16th).
Earlier, Army Supply Corps (Boys) beat State Bank of India 4-1. Karthikeyan scored a hat-trick (36th, 39th and 58th) and Xavier set the ball rolling for ASC (boys) scoring off the first of the 10 penalty corners awarded to ASC (boys). Santosh converted a penalty stroke for SBI in the 30th minute.
Friday will have only one match as the first match has been rescheduled.
