Death condoled

CHENNAI, JULY 22. The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, expressed her grief at the death of Mariammal, a victim of the July 16 school fire at Kumbakoman, who was undergoing treatment at the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital.

In a statement here, she said the Government had undertaken efforts to offer the best treatment to the injured children.

"Unbearble grief gripped me after hearing the news about the death of Mariammal."

The Chief Minister conveyed her deep condolences to the girl's parents.

Ms. Jayalalithaa also directed the release of Rs. 1 lakh from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund to the victim's family.
