KOLKATA, JULY 22. The Indian men's team comprising Jayanta Talukdar, Nenavath Ravindhar and Rahul Banerjee finished third with 3,662 points behind Korea (3,900) and Australia (3,859) after two days of action in the FITA round competition of the World junior archery championship at Lilleshall in the United Kingdom on Wednesday. According to information reaching here, the Indian women Laxmirani Majhi, Runu Swargiary and Sushama pipped United States to grab the eighth spot after both countries were tied with 3,798 points. The Indians were placed higher owing to more number of 10-point hits: 128 to 116. All the eight Indian archers four in each section made it to the Olympic round individual events. Among the men, Talukdar was placed eighth with a total of 1,291 while Ravindhar was a spot behind (1,288). Banerjee was 16th with 1,265 and Kandir 42nd with 1,232. Two Aussies Timothy Cuddihy and David Barnes were ranked first and second respectively with 1,336 and 1,330 while Korean Kang Dong Woo was third (1316). Laxmirani was the best Indian women with a placing of 19th (1,289) while Runu was 30th (1,260), Sushama 39th (1,249) and Ranu 46th (1,235). The Korean trio of Ki Bo Bae, Jo Eun Ji and Lee Young Ji took the first three places with 1,348, 1,348 and 1,339 respectively. Our Special Correspondent
