Soren's plea: hearing put off by a day

RANCHI, JULY 22. The Jharkhand High Court today refused to hear the quashing petition filed by the Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Shibu Soren.

A single-Judge Bench of Justice Lakshaman Oraon referred the petition to another appropriate Bench with remark "place it not before me." Mr. Justice Oraon asked how could he hear the case as he had recorded a dying declaration in the case in 1975 as a junior judicial official in Jamtara.Since it is the discretion of the Chief Justice to decide another Bench, the matter was deferred till tomorrow.
