BIJAPUR, JULY 22. The body of a six-year-old schoolgirl, Soumya Sudeendra Korthi, who had been missing for the last 10 days, was found near Mulwad in Basavanabagewadi taluk today. Police said the body, which had been wrapped in a bed sheet, was recovered from a ditch along the Bijapur-Kolhar Road around 35 km from here. Soumya was a student of class one of Central School, Bijapur. She went to school on July 12 but did not return home that dayMystery shrouded the death, as there was no demand for ransom although it was alleged that somebody had kidnapped her. Investigation into the case had been handed over to district crime branch.
