SHIMOGA, JULY 22. Cable operators held a demonstration here on Thursday urging the authorities of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) not to remove cables from electricity poles as it would cause inconvenience to viewers. In a memorandum submitted to the district administration, the demonstrators said the sudden decision of MESCOM to remove the cables from electricity poles in the light of the death of a boy in Bangalore had affected their business. They urged the authorities concerned to take steps in this regard and allow the cable operators to use the electricity poles for drawing cables.
