NEW DELHI, JULY 22. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi today announced a new Ad hoc Trade Registration Scheme-2004. This scheme, which would come into effect from August 15, would permit various trades in the non-conforming/residential areas in the informal sector. Under the new scheme, the MCD Standing Committee Chairman, Mukesh Goel, today said ad hoc registration of various trades would be done. These include vegetable shops, utensils and crockery, bakery products, toys, cards and similar items, plastic household items, all packed food items, cosmetics and toilet products, tuition centre, medicine, barber shop, hair dressing saloon, beauty parlour, milk products, sweet meats, pan, beedi and cigarettes, stationary items, photocopiers, cyber café and laundry and dry-cleaning without washing. Mr. Goel said the registration would be done within 45 days of receiving the application. He said minimum size of the trading area should not be of less than 36 sq. feet. "The unit would be allowed on one-time registration only. Change of trade would not be allowed," he said.
