LUCKNOW, JULY 22. A fourth class woman employee of the state secretariat today tried to commit self-immolation inside the Vidhan Bhavan complex to protest alleged non-payment of salary, police here said. The woman, Basanti Devi, poured kerosene oil over her body and was about to set herself afire when she was overpowered by the security guards, they said. A case of suicide has been registered against the woman, police said adding the matter was being investigated. PTI
