NALGONDA, JULY 22. A senior official of the Vaidya Vidhana Parishad, Dr.Ramulu, made a preliminary probe into the events that lead to the "unsavory'' incidents at the district headquarters hospital following the death of two patients on Wednesday. Reacting to media reports on the incident, in which the relatives of the patients ransacked the main building of the hospital alleging doctors' negligence, the Parishad commissioner sent the official for an on-the-spot assessment, sources said. Dr. Ramulu verified the medical records and spoke to doctors and staff nurses to ascertain the facts, according to the Medical Superintendent, K. Suresh Kumar. However, the relatives of the patients refused to meet the official to present their case. "We waited for an hour to meet them, but they were not interested in meeting the official,'' Dr. Kumar said.
