ADILABAD, JULY 22. Three persons of Kumar village in Boath mandal, who had climbed into an unused well and inhaled poisonous gases, were saved by the Ichoda Fire brigade on Thursday. The district fire officer, John David, and the Boath Sub-Inspector, John Diwakar, said P. Bheemudu climbed into the 100-foot deep well in the village to rescue a cat that had fallen in. As he failed to return, Soodi Bhojanna climbed down the well. When he too did not emerge, Kairamkonda Narayana went inside to check on the two. The three were reportedly weakened as they inhaled the poisonous gases inside the well. An alarm was raised and the Boath police were informed. They summoned the Ichoda fire crew, who threw a rope into the well. Bhojanna tied the other two together and they were pulled up. Bhojanna was also brought up. The three were taken to the Adilabad hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
