Rain likely

Rain is likely in parts of the city on Friday. It was only `trace' on Thursday. Temperatures recorded on Wednesday were a maximum of 29.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24.5 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity was 64 per cent.

CVC in city today

The Central Vigilance Commissioner, P. Shankar, along with the Vigilance Commissioners, H.J. Dora and Janaki Ballabh, is in city for a sectoral review meeting of defence establishments. The officials will also be attending the first anniversary celebrations of Vigilance Study Circle, 3 p.m., Hotel Golkonda on Friday.

Mercedes-Benz

launch

Mahavir Motors, dealers for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, launched the face-lift C-class car here, the first such launch from Mercedes in the country. Among the changes were striking headlamps, turbo-charged VNT 220 CDI diesel and supercharged 200 Kompressor petrol engines.

Deadline extended

The College of Teacher Education, AMS, has extended the last date for sale of applications, registration and admission to the one-year post-graduate diploma in early childhood education up to July 26. All women graduates with 45 per cent marks are eligible to apply.

School's silver jubilee fete

The Speaker of the A.P. Legislative Assembly, K.R. Suresh Reddy, will inaugurate the two-day silver jubilee festival of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's public school in Jubilee Hills, on Saturday. He will lay the foundation stone for `Munshi Sabhagriha' and inaugurate the `Human Rights Club.' The Chief Post Master General of AP, T.S. Govindrajan, will release the first day cover commemorating the school's 25 years.

Arthritis camp

A free joint pain (arthritis) camp will be organised by S. Pal, senior Rheumatologist and his team at the Advanced Rheumatology Clinic of Kautilya at Amrutha Estate, Somajiguda on July 24 and 25 between 10 a.m and 2 p.m.

Fifty per cent concession will be given on investigations and free medicine will be given to poor and needy patients, according to a press release.
