HYDERABAD, JULY 22. The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has installed round-the-clock cheque deposit machines at various telephone exchanges in the twin cities for the convenience of its customers to pay their phone and mobile bills. The machines have been opened at the Saroornagar, Charminar, Secunderabad and Saifabad telephone exchanges and the facility will be made available at the Madhapur and BHEL telephone exchanges too shortly. Payment of telephone bills, Cell One bills and leased circuit bills can be made through the cheque deposit machines. However, cheques issued beyond the pay-by date and outstation cheques will not be accepted. Explaining the features of the machines, a BSNL spokesperson said once the customer inserts the cheque or demand draft, a slip printer embedded in the machine prints information pertaining to the cheque/DD as well as bill information as customer copy. He said the cheques automatically get deposited in a box in the machine that is secured by an electronic lock. A list of deposits is generated at the end of the day.
Queries also answered
Customers can avail themselves of duplicate copies of telephone bills, BSNL services information, latest tariff structure through the machines and also make enquiries about wait list information, phone shift status and changed numbers. Directory enquiry is also provided in the machines.
