KOCHI, JULY 22. Two persons were arrested on charges of attacking an employee of a private institution in Thodupuzha and taking away Rs. 2.5 lakhs from him on Wednesday. Sanoj (20), son of Mohammed of North Paravoor, and Rajesh (24), son of Raveendran of Chalakkudy, were arrested for attacking Ajayakumar of Geo Gas Agency while he was carrying the cash withdrawn from the Urban Cooperative Bank. Mr. Ajayakumar was heading to the office when the two, who were following him in a motorcycle, stopped him in a deserted spot and attacked him before taking away the money.The Thodupuzha Dy.SP, P.A. Sabu, and the Circle Inspector, Prasannan, led the investigation.
Four held
Four persons were arrested early morning today on charges of stealing a mobile phone and cash from two persons. Ratheesh alias `Barber' Ratheesh (20) of Kadavanthra, Rajesh (22) of Market Road, Karthik (19) of Tripunithura, and Bijith (18) of Ernakulam North Railway quarters were arrested at 3-30 a.m. today for stealing a mobile phone worth Rs. 4,000 from Praveen of Elamkulam and attacking an autorickshaw driver, Murukan, at Kadavanthra Fruity junction.
One arrested
Kevin Sanyo (20) alias Tinu of Ponnurunni was arrested today for attempting to pickpocket Jayaraj, who had given him a lift on a motorcycle.
