NEW DELHI, JULY 22. Members of the Justice V. Balakrishna Eradi Tribunal are visiting the Sutlej Yamuna Link canal site in Haryana on July 24. They visited Punjab about 10 days ago. After the Haryana visit, the tribunal will hold a meeting next month, Mr. Justice Eradi told The Hindu here today. He said they visited the canal site as the newly-joined member, Justice Iqbal, needed to acquaint himself with the Bhakra-Nangal dam and the canal site. The third member is Justice P. Balakrishna Menon. The tribunal has sought an extension of six months from August 2004. Mr. Eradi said the tribunal had given its award on the sharing of the Ravi-Beas waters among Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh within a year of setting up the tribunal. What was pending were applications from the States concerned for clarifications and the guidance received by the Government. Punjab, in its application, had sought a complete reconsideration of the award. Haryana had countered this.
