VIJAYAWADA, JULY 22. Tata Motors launched `Sumo Victa' here on Thursday, with the regional manager of the company, Anupam Mishra, announcing the formal launching of the vehicle. The company's product manager (South India), Jatin Lakra, said the Victa offered "contemporary style, design and technology." It had, for the top-end variance, the fascia gota chrome-lipped squared mesh Tata grill and two clear lens headlamps that "made a statement." The interiors had a new look, he said, adding that the flexible seating system would enable a 2,160-litre luggage space. He said the steering mechanism had been changed, enabling the vehicle to have the smallest turning circle of radius of 4.9 metres in its class. It was also provided with an anti-theft device in the form of an engine immobiliser, activated by a keyless remote, he said. The general manager of Jasper Industries (Vijayawada), R. Suresh Kumar, said the Victa was available in seven colours and the cost ranged between Rs. 4.69 lakhs to Rs. 5.91 lakhs. It came with an 18-month unlimited km warranty, he said.
