NEW DELHI, JULY 22. The Delhi Jal Board today said the residents of North and North West parts of the city would face water shortage on Friday. In a statement, the public water utility said this was because of fall in water level in the Western Yamuna Canal, which feeds raw water to Haiderpur and Nangloi plants. Some of the colonies hit are Shalimar Bagh, Pitampura, Lawrance Road, Rohin, Ashok Vihar, Wazirpur, Mangolpuri, Sultanpuri, Dwarka, Holambi, Nangloi, Najafgarh, Mundka, Uttam Nagar, Vikaspuri, Janakpuri and Tilak Nagar. The DJB said supply of water would also be hit in Sunder Nagri and Nand Nagri areas due to interconnection work of the 600 mm dia water line near Tahirpur electric sub-station.
