Madhya Pradesh beats Tamil Nadu
NEW DELHI,
JULY 23.
Madhya Pradesh defeated Tamil Nadu by 55 runs in the quarterfinals of the National sub-junior women's cricket championship at the DAV College ground here on Friday.
In the semifinals, Madhya Pradesh will take on Andhra Pradesh. The latter made it to the semifinals as its opponent Uttar Pradesh was scratched for having fielded ineligible players.
Mumbai beat Chandigarh by nine wickets to make the semifinals. It will be challenged by Karnataka, which beat Jharkhand by eight wickets.
The scores:
Madhya Pradesh 120 for eight in 25 overs (Payal Vaghmare 45; D. Kavya three for 25) bt Tamil Nadu 65 for six in 25 overs (Geeta Verma three for seven).
Chandigarh 52 for six in 25 overs lost to Mumbai 53 for one in 12 overs (Apoorva Kokil 25 not out, Poonam Raut 25 not out).
