NELLORE, JULY 23. The district Collector, B. Rajasekhar, has said that the Government has cancelled recognition of 7 degree colleges in the district, for functioning against stipulated norms. In a communication issued here on Thursday, he pointed that the colleges coming under the jurisdiction of Sri Venkateswara University were found to be lacking in basic infrastructure and proper buildings. The names of de-recognised colleges are: M.S.R. Degree College, Kavali, Sri Venkateswara Degree College, Nellore, Vivekananda Degree College, Nellore, Sri Venkateswara Degree College, Atmakuru, Krishna Chaitanya Degree College, Nellore, Auditya Degree College, Nellore and Lendi Degree College, Nellore. The Collector advised students not to take admission into these colleges for the academic year of 2004-2005.
