`Moksha Deepam' in memory of departed children

By Our Staff Reporter

TIRUPATI, JULY 23. ``Moksha Deepam'', a huge brass lamp was lit in the Sri Kalahastheeswara temple at Srikalahasti by students, who prayed for the salvation of the young victims of the gory Kumbakonam accident.

The event was conducted by the Mera Bharat Sports and Education Trust, led by former the SAAP chairman, P. R. Mohan.

The lamp with hundred wicks was filled with ghee and lit by 200 students from the Government degree college for women, Balaji Convent and Vivekananda Convent of the town.

The students chanted hymns from "Mantrapushpam'' along with the priests and recited `Bhaktiyoga', the 12th chapter in the Bhagavadgita. They later observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed.
