TIRUMALA, JULY 23. The TTD Board chairman, T. Subbirami Reddy, on Friday said that a final decision over the construction of another `Mahaprakaram' (adding of one more precinct) at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara would be taken only after arriving at a consensus. Talking to mediapersons, immediately after the conclusion of the two-day TTD Board meeting, Mr. Subbirami Reddy said the TTD was not in a hurry. A dialogue with Peethadhipathis and Mathadhipathis regarding the controversial prakaram was already initiated. "I will personally talk to all Peethadhipathis and Sri Vaishnavite heads and other religious leaders and try to convince them before arriving at a final decision."
Pillar mandapam
Regarding the controversy over the re-erection of the Thousand Pillar Mandapam (TPM) at the same dismantled site, he termed it a very sensitive issue and efforts were on to overcome the crisis without hurting the religious sentiments of devotees. The TTD on its part was ready to accept the advice of religious heads. A solution to the problem should be found out in such a way that it did neither violate the Agamasastras nor hurt the religious sentiments of devotees besides promising that the sanctity of the structure as well as the place was not disturbed.
Prasadam price
In an another significant move, the board decided not to hike the price of the Vada and Laddu prasadams of the Lord.
