ZPTC bypoll in August 7

CUDDAPAH, JULY 23. A notification was issued on Friday to conduct by-poll to elect the Ramapuram ZPTC member on August 7, to fill the vacancy which arose due to the shooting down of the ZPTC member, V. Siddhaiah, of the Telugu Desam Party by People's War naxalites before the general elections.

As per the byelection schedule, nominations will be received up to 5 p.m. on July 27, scrutiny on July 28, receipt of appeals on July 29 and 30 and nomination withdrawals on July 31. Polling would take place on August 7 and counting of votes and declaration of results would be on August 9.

NELLORE: As per the notification issued by the State Election Commissioner, Hyderabad, elections for the posts of ZPTC/MPTC members in Kota and Nayudupet of Nellore district would be held on August, 7. The last date for filing of nominations is July 27.
