Houses for revenue employees urged

CUDDAPAH, JULY 23. The Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, R.C. Samal, said on Friday that the Government was keen on providing housing for revenue employees and retired people and urged the Collector to allot lands near towns for the purpose.

Speaking after inaugurating a revenue employees' guest house, constructed here at a cost of Rs. 15 lakhs, and releasing a book `Highlights of officialdom' authored by the late tahsildar, T. Yousuf Naik, he exhorted the revenue officials to have greater interaction with people and strive to resolve their problems. The guest house would benefit revenue employees visiting Cuddapah.

The Collector, Jayesh Ranjan, said the guest house was a long-cherished desire of revenue employees. Referring to the book brought out by the deceased tahsildar's son, Rahi Fidai, he said that it portrayed the problems faced by officials and ways to tide over them. He assured to allot house sites for employees.

The Project Director of Computer Management Revenue Organisation (CMRO), V. Anil Kumar, the Joint Collector, G. Jayalakshmi, District Revenue Officer, G. Joshi Babu, Cuddapah RDO, Khaja Mohiuddin, APNGOs Association district president, C. Yella Reddy and secretary, S. Munaiah and others participated.

Sports meet

Mr. Samal stressed the need for sports meets for Government employees stating that a `healthy body was vital for a healthy mind'.

Speaking after declaring a three-day District Revenue Sports Meet 2004 open at the municipal stadium here, Mr. Samal expressed pleasure at the meet being held after a gap of a decade. Other districts should follow suit, he said The administration could establish closer rapport with the employees and their family members through such meets, he said.
