Darshan `racket' busted

TIRUMALA, JULY 23. Tirumala crime sleuths today claimed to have busted a Chennai-based "package darshan" racket and arrested the "operator". They claim to have seized a few Tirumala temple darshan tickets and demand drafts from him. He was today brought to the Tirumala crime police station for interrogation.

His modus operandi, police said, was to book darshan tickets in false names and arrange package trips for devotees to Tirumala in his vehicles from Chennai charging them Rs. 950 each.
