Covert surrenders
WARANGAL,
JULY 23.
In a major development, K. Brahmachari alias Laxman, of the People's War, who was accused of killing two of his comrades, surrendered before the III Additional Munsif Magistrate with Rs. 6 lakhs cash here on Friday.
Laxman allegedly escaped from the camp where several squads of the PW held a meeting in the Tadvai forest area. He was accused of killing the two PW members -- Ramu and Ravi -- in the early hours of July 11. Later, the PW accused Laxman of decamping with Rs. 11 lakhs and branded him a covert. Subsequently, the Tadvai police registered a case against Laxman. Laxman sprang a surprise by surrendering before the Magistrate. He reportedly sought protection from both the PW and police.
