BANGALORE: Continuing its effort to increase business from branded products, the wire division of Tata Iron and Steel Company Limited (Tata Steel) has launched a branded version of its galvanised wire products on Friday. While launching the product here the Managing Director, B. Muthuraman, said the company aimed to boost production of galvanised wires as part of ongoing efforts to become a 15 million tonne company by 2010. This included taking the capacity of the Jamshedpur plant to 7.4 million tonnes by 2008, while a significant part of the rest would be produced overseas, where the company was looking for acquisitions, Mr. Muthuraman said. Tata Wiron is the fourth brand the company has introduced. The other brands are: Tata Shaktee and Tata Steelium (flat product) and Tata Tiscon (long product).
