VELLORE, JULY 23 . Two persons Sadayappan (28) of Keelpallipattu in Arni taluk and his relative, Shankar (36) were arrested by the All Women Police Station here on Friday on a charge of dowry harassment. According to the complainant, Dhanalakshmi (21), who was married to Sadayappan in 2000, her husband, mother-in-law, Parvathi (47), sister-in-law, Maheswari (32), brother-in-law, Anandan (30) and the latter's brother-in-law, Shankar conspired and drove her out of her husband's house in October 2001, demanding a dowry of Rs.10,000. Besides, her husband's relatives arranged for the second marriage of her husband to Selvi, who is also one of the accused. Acting on the complaint, the police arrested Sadayappan and Shankar. The remaining four accused are absconding.
