NEW DELHI, JULY 23. The unranked trio of Liu Shiwen, Ding Ning and Feng Yalan made a mockery of the seeding list, and gate-crashed into the girls' singles semifinals of the Asian junior table tennis championship here. On a day when all Indians except Mousami Paul fell in the first round, the NDMC Indoor Stadium witnessed a spate of upsets in the girls' pre-quarterfinals with the top four seeds joining the casualty list. Notably, all five Chinese in the fray made it to the quarterfinals. In fact, China's only seeded player Cai Sai failed to get past compatriot Ding Ning in spite of winning three of the first four games in their quarterfinal clash. Liu Shiwen knocked out top-seeded Korean Jee Min Hyung and eighth-seeded Japanese Moemi Terui.
