Fourth win for Garhwal Heroes

NEW DELHI, JULY 23. Bhupender Thakur scored two goals, one in either half, as Garhwal Heroes strolled to its fourth straight win, beating Royal Club 6-0 in a group `A' league match in the DSA `A' Division football championship at the Ambedkar stadium here on Friday.

Left-winger Thakur opened the scoring in the 20th minute. Devesh Kaushik put Garhwal Heroes 2-0 up in the 55th minute before Thakur scored his second, a minute later. Trilok Singh Bisht (50th minute), Ashok Chauhan (67th) and Manoj Gosain (69th) were the other scorers.

Earlier, Frontier Club shocked Delhi Police beating it by a solitary goal. A fourth minute strike by Sohan Singh clinched the issue for Frontier Club against the so far unbeaten Delhi Police.

At the Nehru stadium, Nav Jyoti Nepal registered its first win, beating Ashoka Club through Vinod Rawat's eighth minute goal. In another match, Royal Rangers rallied to hold Delhi Cantonment 2-2. Vipin Rawat (13th) and Rajesh (32nd) had put Cantonment ahead but Vicky struck in the 45th and 50th minutes to give Rangers the breather.
