A few projects may get YSR's nod

ADILABAD, JULY 23. The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, is slated to give his nod to a few irrigation projects in Adilabad district during his Rajiv Palle Bata on Sunday. The last programme on his schedule is review of irrigation potential with officials in the district and he will be presented with proposals for new projects in the medium, minor and other irrigation sectors.

Proposals listed

The district Collector, Vikas Raj, told newsmen that the proposals regarding the Komram Bheem Project (irrigation potential 24,5000 acres), Gollavagu project in Jaipur mandal (9,500 acres), Neelvai project in Vemanpalli mandal (1,300 acres), Rallivagu project in Mancherial mandal (6,000 acres), Jagannathpur scheme in Kagaznagar mandal (15,000 acres), reservoir on Peddavagu (9,000) acres, Lower Penganga project's right flank canal cutting through Tamsi, Jainad and Bela mandals (47,500 acres) and the Lift Irrigation scheme on Pranahita in Cennur mandal (50,000 acres) would be submitted.

The Chief Minister would also study the proposals to be sent to NABARD for 45 minor irrigation works (48,600 acres) and 26 LI schemes (8,200 acres). He would also review the ongoing works on various irrigation projects in the district.

Assets to be distributed

The Chief Minister would distribute assets worth Rs. 6.58 crores at Utnoor. A major chunk of this amount would be in the shape of revolving funds to women's self-help groups in the area. He would distribute land titles and pattadar passbooks for 1,514 acres to 414 tribals at Utnoor and for 162 acres to 47 SCs and STs at Talamadugu.

Under Apath Bandhu scheme Rs. 50,000 would be given to each of the 15 beneficiaries. Families of 29 farmers who committed suicide owing to debts would be given the relief and rehabilitation package to the maximum of Rs. 1.5 lakhs.
