League from today

HYDERABAD, JULY 23. It will be a dream come true for many Andhra players when they will be in action on Astro-turf for the first time at Begumpet Police Stadium as the Andhra Hockey Association, as part of it's golden jubilee celebrations, decided to host State super league from tomorrow.

It is informed that the top six teams in the recent inter-district championship would battle it out for top honours in the round-robin league.

The teams that will be in action are: Guntur, East Godavari, Chittoor, Nellore, Visakhapatnam and Cuddapah. The top two teams will then play in the final at the same venue.

Satyam group came forward to donate the trophies to the winners and runners-up.

Mr. Sandeep Shandilya, IPS, will be the chief guest at the inaugural function.
