Opposition plans Statewide protest meetings

CHENNAI, JULY 23. The main Opposition parties will hold meetings on July 30 all over the State to protest against the "murder of democracy in the State Assembly" by the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Leaders of the parties will address a meeting here on July 25.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has drawn up a list of 28 towns where the meetings will be held. The party said it would work in coordination with its partners in the alliance in holding the meetings.

The DMK treasurer, Arcot N. Veerasamy, will preside over a meeting at Tiruvannamalai.

The deputy general secretary, M.K. Stalin, will participate in a meeting at Tiruvallur and the principal secretary, Durai Murugan, at Villupuram.
