HYDERABAD, JULY 23. The Andhra Balananda Sangham, Narayanaguda, is conducting a group song competition of songs written by the late Nyayapathi Raghava Rao, popularly known as `Radio Annayya,' as part of his birth centenary celebrations on August 22. A release said the sangham would provide a free cassette containing Annayya's songs to those below 14 years who register for the competitions. Participants can choose from among them and practice. The release said `Radio Annayya memorial trophies' and individual prizes would be presented to winners in a programme on the same day. The winners would also be called for an audition, and suitable voices would be given an opportunity to record Annayya's songs. The sangham also invited children's organisations and groups to participate in competitions of dramas written by Radio Annayya for children, to be held on September 5 and 6. Details can be obtained by calling 27561443.
