NEW DELHI, JULY 23. Power utility companies in the Capital have begun feeling the pinch of a delayed monsoon. With the demand for electricity continuing to be the same as during the peak summer days, officials concerned fear that the `overburdened' power distribution network would begin to cave in soon. In an attempt to bring down the continued high demand for power in the Capital, the Delhi Transco has urged residents to conserve energy by using electric gadgets sparingly. "Due to delay in the monsoon and the ongoing sowing season and extended summer, the demand for electricity in the region has increased. As a result, the condition in the Northern Grid is not good," it said.
