NEW DELHI, JULY 23. Three foreign women nationals have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police for allegedly running a prostitution racket from a posh locality in South-West Delhi. According to the police, the Anti-Robbery Section of the Crime Branch had received a tip-off about a prostitution racket being run from a house at Anand Niketan in R.K. Puram. Today, a decoy was sent and a deal struck at Rs. 5,000 for one woman. The decoy paid Rs. 1,000 in advance after which the police team arrested the three women, who were present on the spot. All of them were aged between 25 and 28. One of them was running the racket and used to fix deals with prospective customers over mobile phone. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had landed in Mumbai in March on a tourist visa. They started working as cabaret dancers in Mercury Restaurant at Bandra in Mumbai. The trio also began indulging in soliciting clients charging around Rs. 15,000-Rs. 20,000 for one night. They used to look for customers in five-star hotels and other posh places. However, the Mumbai police arrested them a couple of months later. After they were released on bail, the women shifted their base to the Capital. They managed to rent a house on the top floor of an apartment at Anand Niketan at Rs. 15,000 a month. The police said the main organiser of the racket used to look for clients in five-star hotels and offer services in guest houses and even private houses of prime South Delhi localities. The accused women lived lavishly. While the main organiser knew both Hindi and English, the other two did not even know proper English.
Seven more arrested
Seven people, including three women, were arrested from Connaught Place on Thursday on charges of their involvement in the flesh trade racket. The police found that two persons, Yogesh and Madan Lal, had got advertisements published in a newspaper offering girls for massage services in five-star hotels. Suspecting that they were indulging in prostitution racket, a policeman contacted the suspects on their mobile phone pretending to be a prospective customer. The accused demanded Rs. 15,000 per woman and asked the decoy to meet near Odeon Cinema where he would show three women to him. Soon after the deal was struck, the police arrested them.
