NEW DELHI, JULY 23. A suspended assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Delhi police has been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police for allegedly indulging in sale of fake documents like marksheets and university degrees. Two others were also arrested along with him and several incriminating documents recovered at their instance. One of the main accused, who was running a coaching centre at Dabri in South-West Delhi, had already been arrested by the Narcotics and Crime Prevention Cell of the Delhi police earlier this week. According to the police, a decoy had been sent to strike a deal with one of the suspects near Jwala Heri Chowk in Paschim Vihar on Thursday. As per the deal, Rs. 500 were paid in advance by the decoy for a science degree of Delhi University. The suspect then called two men on the scene. All three were arrested from the spot. They have been identified as Suresh Kumar Yadav, Mohammad Salman Khan and Mukesh Kumar Sharma. At their instance, the police recovered marksheets of M.D. University (Rohtak), Magadh University in Bihar and certificates of Sampurnanand University of Varanasi. Apart from these, school leaving certificates and migration certificates of various schools in Delhi and provisional certificates of Modern School (Barakhamba) were also recovered.
