Applications invited for drama award

MANGALORE, JULY 24. Tulu Koota, Kudla (Mangalore), has invited applications for the Ratnavarma Heggade Tulu Drama Award for 2004.

Writers can send their manuscripts not exceeding 60 pages to the secretary, Tulu Koota, Nityananda Granthalaya, Hampankatta, Mangalore, by September 30.

The manuscripts should be original and not translated from other languages.

The drama sent for the award should not have been staged till the award is announced and it should not have been printed in book form.

If the manuscript is in less than 50 pages it will be rejected, according to a release.

Prize

The Tulu Koota will also award Rs. 1,005 in cash to two students — one, for the highest marks in the SSLC (Kannada-medium) examination and the other for the highest marks in the Pre University Course examination held in March-April, 2004 — from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts and who speak Tulu as their mother tongue.

Students who want to apply for the prize may submit an authorised declaration from the authority concerned that their mother tongue is Tulu and also a copy of their marks cards.

The last date to send the application is August 15.
