VIJAYAWADA, JULY 24. The Director General of Police, Mr. Sukumara, said that 50,000 policemen would be deployed in Krishna, Guntur, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Kurnool districts during the 12-day Krishna Pushkaram. The DGP accompanied by district Collector, K. Prabhakara Reddy, and Commissioner of Police, T. Krishna Prasad, inspected bathing ghats in the city. He also inspected the newly constructed Suryaraopet Police Station and office complex located behind the civil courts. Mr. Sukumara earlier offered prayers at the Kanakadurga temple atop Indrakeeladri hillock.
